29th & 30th January 2015: Show and Tell
Show-and-Tell is an effective and enjoyable way for young children to refine their public speaking and oral communication skills while learning more about each other. It is an activity that can be socially rewarding and academically advantageous for our little ones while also solidifying the home-school connection. Children are encouraged to show a new toy to their friends or tell parents about their day at school. These informal interactions foster their oratory skills by building vocabulary as well as self-expression. In order to capitalize the benefits of show-and-tell, we at SRWS provided our little ones, a platform to speak in front of others and demonstrate their communication skills. They chose items that were meaningful to them to talk about. They learnt how to speak clearly, how to describe things, speak in complete sentences, follow and create a sequence, and paraphrase what they had heard.

Republic Day Celebrations 2015
“Nature, Culture and tradition – Unity in Diversity is the essence of India!”
Sixty five years ago, a salute of 21 guns and the unfurling of the Indian National Flag by Dr Rajendra Prasad, had heralded the historic birth of the Indian Republic on January 26, 1950 when the Constitution of India had finally come into force, under the chairmanship of Dr B R Ambedkar. The Constitution gave the citizens of India the power to govern themselves by choosing their own government. Since then, every year, the day is celebrated with great pride and happiness all over the nation.
The 66th Republic Day of India was celebrated with great zeal and patriotic fervor by the students of SRWS.
The celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the tricolour by the esteemed Chairman of the school, Sh. S K Sachdeva and the passionate singing of the National Anthem by all the students, staff members and dignitaries gathered for the occasion. Everyone saluted the National Flag and pledged themselves to uphold the honour, integrity, diversity and uniqueness of India. Respected Chairman Sir then enlightened the students and teachers of the school with his inspiring speech.
The little ones of SRWS presented a colourful cultural bonanza, which began with an enchanting invocation dance based on the tunes of a soul stirring Saraswati Vandana. The audience was then taken on a journey from the pre-Independence era to present day India, capturing glimpses of diverse India while celebrating the spirit of ‘One Nation Together’. This was done through vibrant dance performances by the lively tiny tots of Pre School and the enthusiastic performances of students to pulsating patriotic numbers. The show concluded with a mesmerizing performance by the young skaters of the school.
