ShreeRam World School successfully hosted the Sankalp Sahodaya Inter-School Rope Skipping Competition, where nearly 120 students from various schools participated. The event provided a dynamic platform for young skippers to showcase their agility, coordination, and competitive spirit. In addition to the student competitors, professional rope skippers were invited to the event, adding an extra layer of excitement and inspiration. These experts demonstrated advanced techniques, motivating the young participants to strive for excellence. Rope skipping, known for promoting physical fitness and endurance, brought out the best in the students as they displayed exceptional skills and sportsmanship. The school was proud to witness the energy and enthusiasm of the participants and celebrated the spirit of teamwork and healthy competition that the event fostered.

We are thrilled to announce that students of ShreeRam World School have participated in the Inter-School Open Roller Skating Championship 2024 on 1st September held at Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical & Sports Science. “Sports is a celebration of the human spirit, a testament to what we can achieve with passion,effortand perseverance.”

On National Sports Day, the students of Class IV B and F organized a special assembly to celebrate the life of Major Dhyan Chand, India’s legendary hockey player. The assembly featured a vibrant dance performance by the students, showcasing the incredible achievements and dedication of Major Dhyan Chand. Following the dance, the students performed a skit emphasizing the importance of indigenous games and the need to limit screen time. The Head of School, Ms Sudha Sadangi concluded the assembly with words of appreciation for the students' efforts, encouraging everyone to stay active, embrace our traditional games and balance screen time with physical activities.

YOGA FOR A BETTER TOMORROW 

Unite, connect and thrive, one breath at a time 

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, our students and teachers embraced the zen flow on June 21, 2024, with a variety of asanas, finding harmony between mind and body. Together on the mat, they ignited their inner light, elevated their spirits, and engaged in the journey of well-being.  
A guided meditation and yoga session was organized to promote relaxation and reduce stress. A host of activities were organised to boost engagement and encourage future participation. A quiz on yoga was also conducted to instill the significance of healthy lifestyle in students. Yoga teachers led sessions for both students and teachers, focusing on basic yoga postures and breathing exercises. The session ended with a few minutes of silent meditation.
The day, characterized by a calm atmosphere, was a tremendous success. Participants enthusiastically took part in the yoga session and physical activities. The session not only raised awareness about the benefits of yoga but also offered individuals the opportunity to experience its positive effects firsthand.
Ms Sudha Sadangi, the Head of School, emphasised the importance of incorporating yoga in our busy and harried lifestyles. She encouraged everyone, be it a novice or a seasoned practitioner, to rely on yoga-lutions in their daily drill.

08th April 2024: WORLD HEALTH DAY CELEBRATION

On 8th April 2024, the school celebrated World Health Day to highlight the significance of good health and well-being for all. It was a unique experience to come together to promote actions that can improve our health—through a skit, song and rhythmic yoga performed by the students of class XII. It underscored that everyone, everywhere should have access to essential health services without facing financial hardship. 
The special assembly began with a prayer and thought stating the importance of being healthy inside and outside. To add variety to the assembly students incorporated a myriad of artistic expressions. A mesmerizing music performance ‘ROAR’ by one of the students along with her harmony singers captivated the audience, further reinforcing the theme of the day. The trifecta of physical, social and mental health is what captured everyone’s attention. The celebration incorporated elements of mindfulness and well-being through rhythmic yoga, the tour de force of the special assembly, promoting actions that can enhance individual health and vitality. Furthermore, the event featured a quiz section for the audience to heighten awareness of health-related topics. This interactive segment injected enthusiasm in the students and helped them gauge their knowledge in health and well-being.
Our respected Head of School, Ms Sudha Sadangi, delivered insightful remarks and encouraged everyone to embrace a path of wellness in daily life.

07th February 2024: JUNIOR OLYMPICS 2024
It is with great joy and pride that we announce our triumph at the Junior Olympics, where we proudly lifted the Championship Trophy. Hosted by Junior Sports India at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the Junior Olympic Games  featured an array of events, including tug of war, relay race, fun race, 100 m race, 200 m race, and hurdle race. 27 students soared to gold, 17 to silver, and 8 to bronze, epitomizing the spirit of excellence and dedication in sports. Yogeshwar Dutt,an Indian Olympic winner in wrestling put an appearance which delighted everyone. Students interacted with him and returned with happy and motivated hearts. It was one of the highlights of the event which lifted the spirits of the budding athletes.
Heartiest congratulations to the champions on their impressive success!

“You’ll never know what you are capable of until you take that first step and just go for it.”                     
National Sports Day is celebrated every year on 29th August to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian hockey player, Major Dhyan Chand also known as the 'Wizard of Hockey'. To celebrate the spirit of sports, a special assembly was conducted by the little sportsmen of classes IV B and E. The students emphasised the value of sports in our daily lives and portrayed famous sports personalities. A mesmerizing dance performance added charm to the day and was appreciated by all. The event like these always helps our students showcase confidence and get over stage fear.

21st June 2023: International Yoga Day

ShreeRam World School celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2023. The event aimed to promote a healthy and balanced lifestyle through regular practice of yoga and to raise awareness about its benefits. The celebration involved various activities and sessions conducted by yoga teachers and professionals. Under the tutelage of Mr Balendu Ray (expert) and Mr Rahul (Demonstrator) from Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga, Ministry of AYUSH, everyone learnt the fundamentals of yoga.   The event, with the theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’,commenced with an opening ceremony that featured a nukkad natak by students. It emphasized the significance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness and mental peace. Following that, a special yoga performance was put up by the students which showcased the connection between yoga and the rich cultural traditions associated with its origin. Students performed surya namaskar and learned the importance of proper alignment and breathing techniques.

To promote relaxation and stress reduction, a guided meditation and asanas session was conducted. A poster-making activity was also held to make the event more engaging and encourage everyone’s participation in future. Yoga instructors took a session for both students and teachers, focussing on fundamental yoga postures and breathing exercises. The instructors provided step-by-step guidance, ensuring participants could perform the asanas correctly. The session concluded with a few minutes of silent meditation.

The day, marked with tranquility, was a resounding success. Everyone actively engaged in the yoga session and physical activities. The event not only created awareness about the benefits of yoga but also provided a platform for individuals to experience its positive effects firsthand.

06th May 2023: Visit to Lodhi Garden

 

Bright Saturday dawned, and students of classes XI-XII of ShreeRam World School geared up for their visit to Lodhi Garden at the crack of dawn. 

The visit, scheduled on Saturday, 6th May 2023 was a success story, as students connected with nature while practising mindfulness and physical exercise. It commenced with a yoga dance where they practised spirituality with ample space around. Unlike worn-out asanas, it was a rich session which accounted for a good heart-exercise. 

Students then also meditated to destress and invigorate their senses. After moments of placid meditation, they lunched and made merry in the company of nature and exchanged several ideas and thoughts. Inundated with banter and interaction, it made for a lively time. 

Last, but not the least, our students played cricket, badminton, and volleyball. They took tons of pictures, made memories, and seized the day. 

The day packed quite a punch; where the students enjoyed the benefits of both yoga and the great outdoors.

04th May 2023: Inter-House Badminton competition

An Inter-House Badminton Competition was conducted on Thursday, 4th May 2023. It was a thrilling and exciting event where the young players participated and exhibited immense talent. It commenced with the encouraging and motivating words of the Head of School. 

With four houses competing against one another, the ambience during the competition was electrifying. Students, teachers, and coaches watched the intense game in which the players displayed incredible skills and sportsmanship. Egged on by everyone, the game was played in the best spirit of competition, with each player displaying great respect for their game.

The final game between Nalanda and Pisa was the most thrilling amidst the applause, where both the teams went toe-to-toe for the title. Nalanda House won the trophy and Pisa House stood second. 

At the end, the Head of School congratulated the winning team and appreciated all the four teams.

03rd May 2023: Children Sports Festival@Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav
Children Sports Festival was organised for three days in ShreeRam World School as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. A host of sports activities were organised including outdoor sports and indoor games. Football, 100 m sprint, dodge ball, badminton, basketball, etc. were played outdoors by the students. Given the sweltering heat, certain indoor games like ludo, chess and carrom were also a part of the festival. The fun-filled days catered to the sporting needs of every student. 
Everyone put on their sports cloak and partook in games without any inhibitions. Students of all classes made the best of the festival, keeping in mind all the protocols related to Covid. The event, well-organised and implemented to ensure the safety of all students, was a huge success.

World Health Day is a global health awareness day, celebrated every year on 7th April. This day is observed to mark the founding of the WHO.

ShreeRam World School on 6th April, 2023 celebrated World Health Day to highlight the significance of good health and well-being. It was a unique experience to come together to promote actions that can improve our health through a skit and rhythmic yoga enacted by the students of class XII. It emphasized on good eating habits that include a balanced diet with lots of water. It further insisted on physical activities such as yoga and meditation. Our Head of School Ms Sudha Sadangi also apprised the students about following a healthy lifestyle.

FIT India Quiz
12th October 2022: FIT India Quiz

“If you want something you've never had, you must be willing to do something you've never done.”

Fit India Quiz was conducted on 12th October 2022 in ShreeRam World School to promote interest of students in physical fitness and build their knowledge regarding sports. It was a School Round, one of the four rounds of the Quiz, launched by Fit India Mission to select students for registration in Fit India Quiz Preliminary Round. 

Sports education and aptitude is equally important when it comes to holistic development of a child. Students participated with inordinate enthusiasm and zeal in the quiz. Unlike any other test, it was a fun and great cranial exercise which drilled the spirit of fitness in them and made them mull over the importance of sports education in every day life along with academic learning. The questions were a mix of topics including Olympics, popular sports, Commonwealth Games, physical fitness, and yoga. Every child wore their sports cloak during the quiz  and tried their level best to answer the questions. To say it was a wonderful stepping stone towards the success of knowledge of sports would not be an exaggeration!

“Sports can bring people together as nothing else can. It breaks down all barriers and builds up understanding and friendships.

The students of classes III-V participated in the Dwarka Mini Athletics Session-1 Tournament held on August 29th at G.D. Goenka Public School, Dwarka. The event aimed to foster a sense of cooperation, teamwork and sportsmanship. In the competition, our kids triumphed and bagged several medals. The winners are listed below:

National Sports Day is celebrated on 29th August every year to honour the hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand, to champion the spirit of sportsmanship. In the run-up to the National Sports Day, ShreeRam World School organized a host of events. Various activities were conducted which highlighted the importance and need of sports in our daily lives. 

The celebrations began with the sports assembly dedicated to yoga, zumba, and dance which was an occasion to spread awareness and encourage students to display their talent. It was a spectacular show where students learnt about health and how it develops various skills like teamwork, empathy, communication and understanding. Students also revelled in the fun races for an entire week with unrestrained delight. 

Various activities like volley ball, tug-of-war, fun races, zumba, etc. saw students and parents in their best form. These encouraged socialising among children, and kept them occupied. Students partook in Inter-house and Zonal Volleyball match competition with full fervour. It was a veritable concoction of various fun activities which drilled in them the spirit of sports and a sense of togetherness. A Volleyball Match was organized for the parents, in particular, with the aim to raise awareness about the value of sports and to encourage public in large to take up sports to be fit and healthy. The happy and energetic visages spoke volumes about the success of the events.

Sports are an integral part of human life and there is great importance of sports in all spheres of life. They help build the character and personality of a person. It certainly is an excellent tool to keep the body physically fit.

National Sports Day is celebrated every year in India on 29th August. The day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Indian hockey legend, Major Dhyan Chand. To give tribute to the legendary figure, ShreeRam World School organised various events for the parents such as Zumba, Volleyball, Tug of War and Fun Races. The parents took part in all the activities with great zeal and enthusiasm. There was frolicsome atmosphere all around.

ShreeRam World School hopes that their students and parents will keep up with the same sportsperson spirit throughtout and work towards getting fitter and healthier.

In the run-up to the 8th International Day of Yoga, numerous activities were organised in ShreeRam World School. Many eventful days saw students and teachers in their yoga element. Each event highlighted how yoga invigorates our body, mind and soul. All the activities performed were a shot in the arm for the entire school. In order to enhance knowledge and instil the basic understanding of asanas, a yoga quiz was conducted in the school which was met with unbridled enthusiasm. Various asana poses like suryanamaskar were perfomed and practised by students. Moreover, a nukkad natak depicting importance of yoga was organised at Lodhi Garden, Delhi, in which students assumed different roles to create awareness on benefits of yoga. A meditation session was also organised for the staff and teachers of the school to apprise them of the benefits of regular dhyan and yog in the busy and hurried life, which culminated in the understanding of concentration. Everybody in the school was encouraged to pick up the habit of doing yoga and to include it in their schedules to bring discipline, to contemplate the meaning of life and grow holistically.

World Health Day is celebrated every year on 7th April to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the year 1948. The theme for World Health Day 2022 is ‘Our planet, our health’. ShreeRam World School celebrated this day in the form of a special assembly by the students of Class XII to spread awareness about healthy habits to be inculcated in our daily life. Students presented shlokas, rhythmic yoga, conducted quiz to raise awareness about the unparalleled value of good health. Gauri of class XII presented a self-composed poem urging all to work towards a healthier tomorrow.

7th International Yoga Day Celebration
21st June 2021: 7th International Yoga Day Celebration
Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. Since its inception in the year 2015, June 21st is celebrated as International Day of Yoga all over the world. International Day of Yoga was celebrated by the students, parents and staff of ShreeRam World School virtually with great enthusiasm. The session started with the students and parents of classes PreSchool to XII taking a pledge to include yoga in their daily routine for a healthier lifestyle. They also demonstrated various asanas followed by pranayama and meditation. The importance of all the asanas was explained simultaneously. The students were encouraged to practice yoga regularly to remain fit and improve concentration.
