04th September 2019: SRWS excels at Zonal Competitions 2019-20
Students from ShreeRam World School have performed extremely well in the Zonal Science & Cultural Competitions 2019-20. Ashmita Sarkar and Prachi Bhakal of Class VIII have won the First position and Aditya Marya and Aevish Dhall of Class IV have won the fifth position in the Zonal Science Exhibition 2019 held at Govt Co-ed Sr. Sec. School, Sec 2, Dwarka on the themes ‘Sustainable Agricultural practices’ and ‘Future Transport & Communication’ respectively.
A group of 12 girls from Classes VI-IX have won the Third position in the Zonal Folk Song Competition held at ITL Public School, Sector 9, Dwarka. The presentations and performances delivered by the students fascinated the audience and were well-appreciated.

26th July 2019: PRAKRITI-OUR PRECIOUS NATURE: Dress to Impress-Preprimary
The students and staff members of ShreeRam World School witnessed a Fancy Dress Competition on the theme ‘PRAKRITI-OUR PRECIOUS NATURE’ on 26th July 2019. The event was organized for the tiny tots of all the sections of Class Preprimary. The talented children came dressed as biotic and abiotic components of nature delivering a strong message about saving our Mother Earth. It was an enthralling event as children performed with great zeal and confidence. The little wonders captivated the audience with their fascinating costumes and oratory skills. It was a wonderful learning experience for them.

17th July 2019: VAN MAHOTSAV 2019 AT SHREERAM WORLD SCHOOL
“When we plant trees, we plant the seeds of peace and seeds of hope.”
ShreeRam World School, Sector 10, Dwarka organized ‘SHRISHTI’, an awareness campaign through Van Mahotsav, a Tree Plantation Drive from 9th July to 17th July 2019 in order to sensitise young students towards the urgent need to nurture and preserve our environment. The students of classes VII and VIII visited the nearby District Park and planted a variety of saplings. Students from all sections of classes Preschool-X also planted saplings in the school campus ground. A special assembly on Van Mahotsava was also conducted and the Head of School, Ms Sudha Sadangi, enlightened and encouraged the students to strive towards creating a greener and cleaner environment. The drive was a huge success as the students were enriched by the experience of being closer to nature and understanding their responsibilities towards Mother Earth.

26th April 2019: Workshop on Waste Management
ShreeRam World School organized a workshop on ‘Waste Management’ as part of the Earth Day Awareness Campaign, for the students of classes III to X as well as its staff members on 26th April 2019. Ms Rani Sahay from the NGO ‘Peepal - The Resilience Lab’ conducted the awareness workshop.
The objective of the workshop was to educate the students and provide them with holistic understanding of Waste Management issues. The workshop enlightened them about the current situation of waste generation in our city, Delhi. Students were informed how waste materials are segregated, processed and recycled and how to implement the 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle with the help of various demonstrations. They promised to contribute to the Swachh Bharat Campaign by changing their attitude towards waste generation and implementing the best practices of waste management.
The workshop, which was attended by the Head of School, Mrs Sudha Sadangi, teachers and students, was indeed interesting, interactive, engrossing and a revelation for everyone present.

22nd April 2019: Earth Day Celebration
“The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth.” – Marlee Matlin
Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22nd April as an annual event all across the world in order to increase the awareness among people about environmental safety as well as to demonstrate the environmental protection measures. As a step towards inspiring, educating and motivating children to act, a special assembly on Earth Day was conducted by the students of Class IX on 22nd April 2019.
The students presented a meaningful skit, which highlighted the significance of protecting the Earth and its natural resources, and suggested ways for the same. A dramatic and heart touching monologue by Mother Earth was showcased which demonstrated the side effects of humans trying to modify nature for their own selfish needs and the importance of keeping the environment green and pollution free. The children also recited a soulful poem on understanding our duties towards Mother Earth as responsible citizens.
The assembly concluded with the students sensitizing the audience that any small effort, even a tiny endeavour, would go a long way in saving humankind from disaster. A pledge was taken by all the students to value the generosity of Mother Earth and to create awareness to keep the Earth clean and green.
Head of School, Ms Sudha Sadangi motivated and enriched the young minds about the ways in which each one could contribute to safeguard planet Earth.

15th April 2019: Workshop on Disaster Management and Preparedness
“Every person who prepares is one less person who panics in a crisis.”
Disasters can happen anywhere and anytime. It is imperative to be prepared for one when it happens. Disaster Management can be defined as the management of resources and responsibilities for dealing with all humanitarian aspects of emergencies, in particular preparedness, response and recovery in order to lessen the impact of disasters.
To sensitize the students of ShreeRam World School in the area of Disaster Management and Risk Reduction, a workshop on Disaster Preparedness and Management was organised on 15th April 2019. The workshop was conducted by Ms Rani Sahay from Peepal - The Resilience Lab. The session helped the students to understand the steps to be adopted in order to respond to various disaster situations. The students were reminded that a disaster strikes unexpectedly and causes significant physical damage, loss of life or sometimes a permanent change to the natural environment. It was told that planning, co-ordination and high state of preparedness are the necessary steps to handle crisis successfully. The relevance of small precautions that can save the lives of millions in times of sudden disasters was highlighted.
The session proved to be an informative lesson on life-saving skills.

22nd January 2019: Regional Science Exhibition
“Intelligent learning makes the learners intelligent.”
A CBSE Regional Science Exhibition was organized at ITL Public School, Dwarka on 22nd and 23rd January 2019.
Students from 68 schools across Delhi participated in this event to showcase their ideas with different innovations. The theme and sub-themes were as per the guidelines from NCERT.
Neeyati and Ananya Sharma of Class VI, Ashmita Sarkar of Class VII and Sandali Mishra of Class VIII presented their models based on the topics ‘Waste Management - Useless to Useful’ and ‘Resource Management – Innovation and You’. The objective of the exhibition was to encourage the spirit of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rethink. Posters depicting the themes contributed to the creation of a colourful ambience. They shared their creative ideas and solutions to everyday challenges through their innovative models. Their presentation was supported by eye-catching displays and research findings.
A panel of eminent judges from CBSE screened the projects. The judgement criteria included innovation, practicality and presentation. The judges appreciated the exhibits and applauded them for the knowledge they displayed at such a tender age. It is a matter of great pride that the students of ShreeRam World School were shortlisted for the final round on the basis of their scientific intellect while competing with the students of higher classes. It was an enriching experience for the students as it provided a platform for critical thinking and expression of creativity.

05th November 2018: Special Assembly on Diwali
Diwali symbolises the spiritual ‘victory of good over evil’ marking the triumph of light over darkness and the beginning of the Hindu New Year.
Little ones of Classes I Daffodil and Tulip conducted a special assembly on the auspicious occasion of Diwali on 5th November 2018. The assembly commenced with the school prayer and the rendition of the shloka ‘Vakratunda Mahakaya’ by the students. The talented children performed a beautiful dance drama depicting the story of Ramayana. They highlighted the significance of the day when Rama, Lakshman and Sita had returned to Ayodhya after 14 years in exile and in their honour, people decorated their houses with earthen lamps and diyas.
A vibrant dance was performed by the students in traditional attires highlighting the festivity and good cheer of the festival. The importance of green crackers and the problem of pollution were also highlighted through a skit.
The programme concluded with the message to the students to celebrate an eco-friendly Diwali and refrain themselves from burning crackers so as to create a clean environment for all living beings.

02nd November 2018: SAY NO TO CRACKERS
Keeping in mind the alarming levels of pollution in our city, Delhi, and the health perils associated with bursting firecrackers, ShreeRam World School conducted an anti-cracker awareness campaign to enlighten the students about the long-lasting hazardous effect of bursting crackers on the environment and also on our health.
An interactive session was conducted by a team from the Delhi Police with the excited students of the school. The team urged the students to either ‘SAY NO TO CRACKERS’ or only to burst ‘Green crackers’, which are approved and certified by the PESO. They also spread awareness regarding the recent orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court regarding the ban on firecrackers so that they may disseminate it further in their locality. The young students pledged to celebrate a pollution-free Diwali and spread the message of cheer amongst all.

31st July 2018: Regalia (Fancy Dress-Water World)-Preschool
A Fancy Dress Competition was organized for the shining stars of Preschool on the theme ‘Water World’. All the students participated with zest and vigour as they came dressed up as different creatures of the Water World along with a strong message to save the ocean life.
The efforts and hard work of the children were appreciable. The event created a colourful and serene ambience showcasing how scintillating ocean life is. It was wonderful to watch the little ones captivating the audience with their performances.

23rd July 2018: Regalia (Fancy Dress-Flora & Fauna) – Preprimary
“A world without flora and fauna is a world without us.”
A Fancy Dress Competition was organized for the shining stars of Preprimary on the theme Flora and Fauna from 23rd July to 27th July 2018. All the students participated with full zest and vigor as they came dressed up as different plants and animals. Each of them delivered a strong message about saving the ecosystem.
The effort and hard work of the children was appreciable. The event created a colourful and enthusiastic ambience which looked like a medley of flora and fauna all around. All the children enjoyed and cheered each other’s performances. It was indeed a visual treat to watch the little wonders enact and talk about preserving the nature.

18th July 2018: "Regalia" - Fancy Dress Competition - Class I
Scholastic and co-scholastic activities have an equal importance in school for the all-round development of the child. ShreeRam World School conducted the ‘Regalia’ - Fancy Dress Competition for the students of Class I from 16th July to 19th July, 2018. The purpose of conducting the competition was not only to blend learning with fun, but also to develop confidence in the students by giving them an opportunity to get on the stage and speak in front of an audience.
The theme of the event was ‘Go Green’ where children came dressed up as trees, Mother Earth, seed, LED light, CNG etc. They emphasized upon the importance of trees in our lives and the need of saving the Earth. The little ones came up with wonderful ideas like car-pooling, how our environment would be in 2051 etc. which stirred the minds of everyone present.
The effort and hard work of children was commendable. The competition created an amiable ambience and the audience cheered the performances with thunderous applause. It proved to be a great learning experience for the students and gave them a platform to explore their hidden talents.

18th July 2018: Regalia (Fancy Dress-My Favourite Youth Icon) - Class II
Scholastic and co-scholastic activities have an equal importance in school for the all-round development of the child. ShreeRam World School conducted the ‘Regalia’ - Fancy Dress Competition for the students of Class II from 9th July to 12th July, 2018. The theme of the event was ‘My Favourite Youth Icon’ where the students depicted eminent personalities from various fields like sports, business, politics etc. Children were dressed up as Indra Nooyi, Sania Mirza, Priyanka Chopra, Virat Kohli etc. They came in colourful costumes and spoke about the character they portrayed. Interestingly, a large number of students look up to different sportspersons as their icons.
The spectators bore witness to the enthusiasm and energy of the young performers and appreciated them thoroughly.
