Hand washing is the first basic step towards achieving any millennium goals for development. It saves lives.

Global Handwashing day is celebrated on October 15 every year to increase awareness and understand about the importance of Handwashing. ShreeRam World School marked a day dedicating to hand Hygiene wherein students were sensitised regarding the significance of handwashing. The matron of the school also demonstrated the 10 steps of handwashing and the students repeated after her. In the end, the school took a pledge to maintain hand hygiene and help curb the spread of infections and diseases.  As the world moves beyond COVID-19 to a new normal, it is time to accelerate hand hygiene progress to prevent any kind of infection and it requires a collective effort to enact real change.

Let us all unite for Universal Hand Hygiene.

Workshop on Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties

Workshop on Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties
21st July 2022: Workshop on Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties

“Life is a balancing act. While we have all the rights to be in freedom, peace, harmony and bliss; we do have a responsibility to ensure that others too enjoy their own freedom, peace, harmony and bliss.”

A workshop on Fundamental Rights and Fundamental  Duties was organised for the students of classes VIII-X, keeping in mind the importance of both rights and responsibilities in the life of a student. The importance of rights and responsibilities go hand in hand and come into play in many places. It's important not only to be aware about your fundamental rights, but also to have an awareness regarding your fundamental duties as a citizen of our nation.

The workshop's main goal was to familiarise the students with the basic conceptual clarity regarding fundamental rights and fundamental duties provided to us by our Indian Constitution. The workshop also aimed to teach students about the importance of fundamental rights for an individual in the society; importance of fundamental duties of a citizen in the nation; balance between fundamental rights and fundamental duties; and to learn how to fulfill your duties in order to enjoy your rights.

The reward of doing one duty is the power to do another. An individual who neglects his/her duty as a citizen is not entitled to his/her rights as a citizen. Knowledge of our duties is the most essential part of the philosophy of life.

Meditation is a way to train the mind. It requires only a few minutes of quiet, an openness to try, and a willingness to let go. It is a powerful practice because it provides mental clarity and the practitioners always have scope to grow and try again. ShreeRam World School organised a Meditation Session for students of classes IX-XII in collaboration with Brahma Kumaris on "Power of Meditation". The objective of the session was to connect the body and mind. The session was enlightened by Bhram Kumari Saroj. She waxed eloquent about the nature of soul and how it should be connected to the supreme. ‘I am a peaceful soul’- the statement by her grabbed all the attention and sent everyone into a peaceful zone. A meditation session in the end worked as an antidote and enriched the students through and through.
