"You must be the change you wish to see in the world"
- Mahatama Gandhi
In a world, torn apart by violence, terrorism, degradation of moral values and culture, escalation of materialism and degeneration of humanity, we seek love, peace, tranquility, human dignity and revival of our glorious past laden with values and ethics. What better reasons are there to remember Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, the father of our nation, a great leader and an immortal soul who taught the world how to win a war in peace. We all celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, birthday of the great leader who gave the world the invincible weapons of Truth, Non-violence and Compassion. Mahatma Gandhi always insisted on truth and non-violence as the inseparable part of humanism. The essence of Gandhi Jayanti celebration transcends far beyond commemorating Mahatma Gandhi's birth and his life. We, at ShreeRam World School, have our ideologies very closely linked with Gandhiji and his beliefs. The students of Class IV organised a special assembly to mark the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The assembly began with a rendition of Bapu’s favourite devotional song 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram'. Few students recited inspiring and heart touching poems. Class III students spread awareness about the significance of keeping the environment clean and carried out a cleanliness drive under the ‘Swachh Bharat’ mission. To highlight the values and the ethics which Gandhiji strived to inculcate in the society, children were given an account of how he treated everyone equally. A short Skit on ‘Untouchables’ was presented where children conveyed the need and importance of equality. The students were also inspired to adopt the Gandhian virtues of non-violence, love, compassion and peace.

05th September 2016: Teachers' Day Celebrations at ShreeRam World School
The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called 'truth'.
- Dan Rather
Teachers and the teaching profession contribute more to the future of a nation than all other professions put together. Teachers handle wet clay in the form of students and shape the future citizens who are morally correct, responsible and good human beings. India honours this creed on the 5th of September every year, the birth anniversary of the second President of India, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The role of a teacher evolves as a student grows up. In primary school, a teacher has to play the role of an alternate parent with great care and understanding. In middle school years, the teacher imparts important academic lessons along with moral and ethical values to students who are at a vulnerable age. In high school years, the teacher begins to treat students as young adults in preparing them for the next phase of their lives. The students of ShreeRam World School showcased a variety of performances to celebrate Teachers' Day. The celebrations began with the little ones of Class I Daffodil presenting a dance - drama through which they tried to explain that 'Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom'. The children of all the classes sang, danced and acted to thank their teachers for being a vital contributor of learning in their life and sought the blessings of the teachers. All the students participated with great zest and zeal and exhibited their talents as a treat to the teachers. To honor the teachers and show their sincere gratitude to them, a number of interesting activities were conducted in groups in all classes. Children made Teachers’ day cards and flowers for all teachers to express their love and gratitude. Teachers are the backbone of the nation for they are like a candle that consumes itself to light the way for others. Since time immemorial, India has paid due respect to this creed known as 'Guru'. In fact, in the Rig Veda, a guru has been equated to the Supreme Being.
